La Petite Maison's Bikini – How to Make It

WThis is a simplified interpretation of a drink found on the seasonal drinks list. This is a batch prepared mix which is bursting full of essence of the Christmas time, making it perfect for a celebration. Reserve the remaining syrup for breakfast cocktails, sweets, or to mix another batch of the drink.

Bikini Recipe

Serves 10 people

Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

Ingredients for the Drink (makes 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish

Method

Making the Citrus Syrup: Place all the ingredients inside a saucepan, heat until it reaches a simmer, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Next, take off the burner allowing it to cool fully. Transfer into an sealable bottle, cap it and store in the fridge, it can be stored for up to one month.

To make Premix: Combine the specified spirits and syrup into one sizeable container, let it rest for 60 minutes, then strain best through a fine cloth, so it's perfectly clear.

When ready to serve: Pour 85ml of the batch mix into your cocktail shaker filled with ice, gently stirring carefully for a minute to cool it down. Strain to a frosted cocktail glass or similar, decorate with the cranberries and complete it with a brief mist of mandarin oil above the glass.
